Another week of Chill Filtered always means another fun episode. This week’s episode was our first Japanese whisky in a long time: Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt 17yr. A 17 year blended Japanese whisky from Nikka. That’s right! Whisky without an “e”. That’s how the Japanese spell it.
Fun history to this episode. We go into what makes a Japanese whisky (or are there regulations at all??), who Shinjiro Torii was, who Masataka Taketsuru was, what they both did for Japan and the two big competing companies: Suntory and Nikka. Come have a listen here or wherever you listen to your podcasts. Just search: “Chill Filtered”.
And guess what? This week we had a whiskey goal partially achieved!!
While Adam was in the Milwaukee area last week, he visited a distillery and ended up in a situation talking to the marketing director there. Remember our whiskey goal of getting free whiskey to review? Well Adam got two! And they will be announced soon on the podcast to be reviewed soon too.
What a week! And for those distilleries and whiskey companies out there, we would love to review your whiskey too. We give honest reviews but take pride in never bashing any whiskey. So feel free to hit us up by Instagram (@Chillfilteredpodcast) email (email@example.com) or by the “Contact Us” page on Whiskey Goals.
And this coming Monday, we will be releasing a great episode on Knob Creek’s Twice Barreled Rye. We’ll talk about what double barreling is and why it’s becoming more of a thing lately. So keep an ear out for that.
In the meantime, thanks for listening in or reading up on the Whiskey Goals blog. More to come for sure.
